Amazon.Com adds Revenue Stream with PPC Plan

Amazon.com, an Internet behemoth unveiled a pay-per-click strategy through their A9 search subsidiary.

Earlier this month, the superstore unveiled a beta program that includes an auction-based PPC program.

Industry reports indicate that the program is being beta tested and will be an advertising program allowing a business to buy sponsored links that appear on the site alongside product listings. This addition has caught the attention of the industry as Amazon.com adds this powerful revenue stream to their site.

Clickriver Ads will not be limited to Amazon.com and will display ads for other third party ad networks. We fully suspect, though it has not been stated, that competing retailers will be blocked from purchasing ads on Amazon.com.The online superstore will clearly label the ads to avoid confusion of their legions of loyal consumers. Though we question risking the consumer confidence and loyalty by adding these paid listings, we fully recognize the enormous revenue potential of this new addition to the site.

Amazon.com appears to be a great fit for businesses in investment, training, education, travel, insurance, health care, IT and other services. The marketing potential is great. Consider an ad for a travel agency appearing when people are searching for travel books as an example of the enormous potential of this program.

White Hat Marketing, LLC will be assisting select clients in stating and managing a PPC campaign with Amazon.Com.
