We’ve already discussed how getting yourself into the Local Businesses of Google Maps can bring you good rankings and a boost in traffic. But how do we rank even better WITHIN the Local Maps?
Usually sites that are physically located closest to the IP rank at the top, but this isn’t always the case. So what’s the trick?
No one has done thorough research on the topic but many agree following the previous tips should help. As your dental practice is a localized business, you need to incorporate all of these to make sure you’re getting the attention your business deserves and needs online.
- Put your physical address online. Either in the footer of the page or elsewhere.
- Use local keywords. Like regular SEO tactics, makes sure street names, neighborhoods and other relevant location-based keywords appear in your copy regularly.
- Put your local phone number online. Same concept as your address.
- Get Listed Locally. Find local business directories and similar sites and enter you website into the database.
- Consider a local host. Many hosting services actually have their databases in a central location elsewhere, or rent space from larger server spaces. If there is a local company running hosting servers in the area, contact them and see what you can work out.
