For those important keywords, of which you probably have a set of two or three, it’s usually a good idea to do something special. Think of it as showering extra attention on your boss’s kid or buying a fancy present for the Secret Santa your significant other’s family is having.
For dental practices, we’re always thinking local, local, local. We want browsers in our area to find us more than we want those outside of our area operation. Choose 3 of your most important keywords, pair them with one important geographical keyword each, and start writing.
Create a page for each duo of keywords, using it in the title, links, link attributes, image attributes, and of course the main body of the content.
Be creative, and make these one-page keyword exercises useful. A mumbo jumbo of keyword combinations that makes no sense won’t do you any good, no matter how many times you repeat the keywords.
Once they’re written and ready to go, get them live, and make sure you link to these articles from your home page so that web crawlers find them easily. If you’ve got a network of other websites with which you run link exchanges, talk to them about linking directly to your new pages to help increase the attention and importance Google and other search engines will place on them.
Now sit back and watch your traffic. You’re sure to see some action within the next week.
