Link Building is creating inbound links to your website, either by offering reciprocal links, or by participating in online forums and leaving links back to your homepage. This is a keystone strategy in building traffic for any website, and can help grow your dental practice’s online presence, too.
People are always looking to have their questions answered online. If you can provide that answer for them as well as point them to your website, you’re accomplishing two goals:
- You are establishing yourself as an Expert/Authority of your field on the internet.
- You are increasing your PageRank with search engines by creating more inbound links from high quality websites.
TWO PLACES TO GET STARTED
- HealthBoards.com — Create a user name and answer other user’s dental questions at HealthBoards.com. Leave a link back to your website in your signature, or point a user to an article on your website that has more detailed information. This brings in traffic from that single user, plus other users who find the question and answer via searching google.
- JustAnswer.com — Sign up to be an Expert on JustAnswer’s dental question site. Users input questions and you can respond in real time. This works more or less the same as the HealthBoards.com as far as building traffic and your reputation.
There are many other similar sites out there. Do a Google search and see what you can find, and don’t forget to check blogs — you can post in comments and leave answers and links.
Make sure you’re always offering something when you leave your link. It’s good marketing practice and it also makes your inbound links more effective in the long run.
