MySpace Beats Yahoo in Display Ad Views

Industry data shows that Fox Interactive Media, led by its flagship Myspace.com site, has beat out Yahoo Inc and it’s member sites in the US market for online display advertising.

Web audience measurement firm comScore said this week that Fox Interactive’s sites garnered 56.8 billion advertising views in June while Yahoo managed 53.1 billion.

However, while viewership is up on MySpace, it still struggles to capitalize on that traffic and draw top-dollar ad rates, unlike Yahoo.

Yahoo has questioned that actual methodology used by comScore to determine the numbers, of course, putting the results into question.

“We believe there could be issues with the measurement that could be misrepresenting Yahoo and we are reviewing comScore’s methodology and working with them to resolve these issues,” Spokesman Adam Grossberg said in a statement.
