According to eMarketer, in 2008 U.S. companies will be spending approximately $27.5 billion on online advertising, which translates to about 9.3% of total US media spending. That’s a significant increase from 7.4% in 2007.Â
It’s obvious the market for internet advertising is growing, and in order to succeed you’ve got to be at the cutting edge of the field. With so much competition and a number of categories to choose from, it’s important to determine where your marketing efforts are best focused. Pay-Per-Click (PPC), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Video Advertisements, Social Networking Ads, Video Games, and Mobile Marketing are all valid options. Â
The most important point is to stick to what you know, or hire a professional. When trying to develop brand name recognition, the worst thing you can do is botch the job and look like a novice. You can ruin your image and have to start all over again. Avoid wasting your time and money when advancing your business through online marketing; both educate yourself and work with people who are already experts.
