The first thing you should do when writing an online newsletter is to take off your lawyer hat and put on your client hat. Consider what your clients or potential clients may want to read or learn about. What could you tell them that will make your firm stand out?
Think about what questions your clients ask you the most, and how you can put those questions into an article format. A newsletter could contain legal advice, articles about current news events, the latest news about employees in the firm to add a personal touch, or information about recent successful cases.   Creating several newsletters centering particular geographic areas or firm specialties should be considered.
Give recipients the most favorable impression possible. You’re the expert; so show them what you know best. The more free information you give them in a newsletter, the more trust you will build, and then potential clients will become clients when they need legal assistance.
