PPC Tips: Be Specific, Not Broad

PPC (pay per click) campaigns are an affordable and highly effective way to market your business and promote sales. When it comes to creating your ads, make sure you keep specific and target search phrases rather than try to create a general, catch-all advertisement.

Studies have shown the customers respond best to a search engine ad when they see their actual query appear in the ad text.

For example, if I’m searching for “pet carpet shampoo”, I’m more likely to click on a link that has the phrase “Pet Carpet Shampoo” in it rather than “A wide variety of carpet shampoos”.

Your campaign should choose important queries such as these and target the individually. This will result on more clicks and more sales, since your bringing people in for specific products or services their looking for then delivering them to them instantly.

Choose a few high power keyword strings and queries to start and monitor the campaign closely for the first week. See what people are searching for, what the competition is for the keywords, and balance the ad as you go to deliver the best ROI possible.
