PPC Tips: Content First, PPC Ads Second

When positioning your PPC ads, search engines take a look at where you’re directing the customer. If the landing page is not “relevant” to the keywords, you’re not going to get good placement and you’re going to pay more per click.

Before you create an ad for AdWords or other PPC services, make sure you’ve got the right content up first.

Whether you create a specific landing page, or direct to a content area that already exists, make sure you’re covering the following steps before launching the corresponding ad:

  • You’re using the same keyword(s).
  • The copy of the landing page is EXTREMELY related and pointed to the ad’s pitch.
  • The landing page is already Search Engine Optimized for the same keywords as your ad.
