PPC Tips: Testing Your Ads

All major online advertisers allow you to use multiple ads for the same keywords, which you can use to optimize and test the effectiveness of your copy.

Sometimes just changing one word in your PPC copy can result in more clicks, but you wouldn’t know it if you’re not running multiple variations on the same keywords.

Many just set up one ad for a set of keywords and let it roll, never knowing how that ad is actually performing or how it could be improved. Instead, you should be creating multiple variations of that ad, while using the same keywords. Using the dashboard of your service, you should be able to see the differences in click thru rates for each ad, and see which is performing better than the other.

As you go along with the campaign, continue to try to improve and rearrange your ad so that they become more and more effective. You’re paying the same amount either way, so why not make the most of the tools they give you and beef up your ROI?
