Amongst the various clients in the Real Estate business that we have consulted, there is one thing that is noticeably lacking in almost all of their websites: information.
Of course, they have their property listings (which is important information to have on there), but there is another type of information that their customers want and that they can provide: insider knowledge about searching for/buying a home.
WHY A FEW ARTICLES CAN DRAMATICALLY INCREASE YOUR TRAFFIC
While you may be a professional in the industry, the buyer most likely is not. They have lots of questions about how the process works (making offers, etc), they want help to figure out what sort of property they should be looking for (city/country/large/small/etc), and you better believe that they are searching for this information on the internet during their search process.
This is good news, because you just happen to be an expert with lots of knowledge and experience in answering and assisting people just like them. All you need to do is write up some simple, short articles that each tackle one question or concern that home buyers face during their search process, especially as it relates to your particular region, and you’ll have a whole new dynamic of traffic coming in to your website.
GOOGLE LIKES INFORMATION, TOO
Keyword rich articles will always do better then short property descriptions as far as search engine ranking goes. Articles can also be linked to by other websites such as blogs, social networking sites like Digg and StumbleUpon, and realty focused news sites, which will expand and draw in a larger, interested audience.
The final perk is the opportunity to establish yourself as an expert in your region. Be the one that people go to for information and to have their questions answered, and chances are that you’ll be the one they go to when they want to buy as well.
Try starting with just a few articles, 2 to 3, that all link to one another, and go from there. Remember to use smart, keyword rich titles and to keep the text scannable, easy to read, and extremely focused on your topic.
