TiVo will begin allowing subscribers to stream and bookmark YouTube videos on their broadband enabled TiVo boxes.
“Will there be a time when people turn on their TV sets and watch YouTube videos instead of TV shows? Time will tell,” Maitra said.
According to rating frim Nielsen//NetRatings, YouTube attracted 68 million unique uesers in May who streamed 3.8 billion videos.
Now with this content being available in a traditional Television format, those numbers may rise.
Google has had problems monetizing YouTube in the past. This new development may grow some new and lucrative ways to generate advertising based income.
